Report: Repair of a Spindle Motor
Last updated: 12/05/2024
Today, we would like to share a success story from our company that highlights how innovative solutions and customized repairs can help our customers.
Assessment
A customer approached us with a defective spindle motor, model Yaskawa USAIKM-50-BK43-D. This motor is considered difficult to repair since no
replacement parts are available on the market—especially the encoder, which is often a weak point.
The motor was completely seized: damaged ball bearings had destroyed the shaft, and the encoder had been rendered inoperative due to coolant ingress.
Our Solution
Despite the challenges, we developed an innovative solution: we designed and manufactured the encoder for this motor ourselves.
Thanks to our technical expertise, we were able to fully restore the motor to working condition.
For over 5 years, we have been successfully repairing motors of this type—with a success rate of 100%!
Our work has helped customers significantly reduce their operating costs and minimize downtime.
The photos provided document the condition of the motor before and after the repair.
Cost Efficiency
- Repair Costs: Our repairs cost approximately 25% of the price of a new motor.
- Speed: While the current delivery time for a new motor from the manufacturer exceeds 6 months, we offer a fast and reliable solution.
Sustainability
By repairing existing devices, we contribute to the reduction of electronic waste and conserve valuable resources. This is an important step toward a more sustainable future.
We are proud to offer our customers innovative, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solutions.
