Sustainability in the Repair Industry – A Step in the Right Direction!

Sustainability is particularly close to my heart – and I am happy that more and more companies are joining this path! Recently, we had the opportunity to repair several Mitsubishi Drives for a well-known company. Until then, defective devices were simply replaced with new ones, and the old ones were disposed of in an environmentally responsible way. But what does "environmentally responsible" actually mean?

The Truth About "Environmentally Responsible" Disposal

Many companies dispose of defective electronics responsibly, but is this truly sustainable?

  • Are plastic parts and heat sinks actually recycled? In some cases yes, but often only partially.
  • What happens to the electronic components? Are they reused or do they end up in the scrap heap?
  • And what about the capacitors, which are full of chemicals?

These are questions I keep asking myself when it comes to the environmental impact of electronic waste. "Environmentally responsible disposal" sounds good, but in many cases, valuable resources are lost.

Why I Choose Repair

  • A repaired device remains in the machine and can often be used without any problems for another 5 to 10 years.
  • This not only saves significant costs, but also greatly reduces the ecological footprint.

I find it great that more and more companies are taking this sustainable path and are consciously addressing the environmental impact. In this case, both our customer and we created a win-win situation – with a third winner: our environment!

Lets act more sustainably together!

Do you share my belief that repair is the right way? I look forward to exchanging ideas with companies that are seeking sustainable solutions and am always available for questions.
